Hi everyone! My name is Jayce Zimpel, and I am so excited to be the new 3rd grade teacher at Coon Valley Elementary!
I was born and raised in Boscobel, Wisconsin. After graduating from Winona State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, I had the opportunity to return to my hometown to begin my teaching career. For the past three years, I have had the privilege of teaching kindergarten, and for the past two years, I was an assistant coach for the Boscobel High School cross country team.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and most of all, making memories with my significant other, Josh, and our dog, Marlo.
One question I've been asked is, "Why Westby?" Recently, I moved to the area to join Josh on his family's dairy farm. As I began searching for a teaching position, I was looking for a district with a close-knit, welcoming, and supportive community. It quickly became clear that the Westby Area School District embodies all of those qualities, and I couldn't be more excited to be part of it.
I can't wait to get to know my students, connect with families, and become involved in the community. Here's to a fantastic school year!
