"Hola Hola! My name is Courtney Hill and I am so excited to be the new Spanish teacher at Westby Area Middle and High School!

I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Psychology I had the opportunity to teach High School Spanish south of Houston, Texas where I met my husband. I spent the next 10 years teaching Spanish to children of all ages from 4 to 18 and developing programs for multilingual learners in different districts in the Houston area. I earned my Master's degree from Texas A&M in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Hispanic bilingualism and worked with teachers across the United States to better instruction for Multilingual learners. In 2012 my husband, children and I moved to Wyoming. From 2014 to 2022 I worked in Riverton, Wyoming as a Title I Specialist. In 2022 I was named the Executive Director of Child Development Services of Fremont County serving children with disabilities from birth to kindergarten, earned my Doctorate from University of Wyoming in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, and chased my children from sport to sport. In 2025, my husband was named the School Administrator for Viroqua Area Schools and we started our newest adventure as empty nesters and Wisconsinites!

I had the opportunity to learn and study Spanish in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Granada Spain which fueled my passion for travel! When I am not traveling to the University of Wyoming to watch my daughter cheer on the Wyoming Cowboys or visit with my son as he finishes his senior year and applies to medical school, I am planning my next trip. Traveling, cooking, decorating, and attending sporting events are hobbies I enjoy outside of school.

The Westby Area community has welcomed my family over the last year and when given the opportunity to join a great school, close to home, I jumped at the chance.I am excited to start the year at Westby Area Schools and share my love of Spanish culture, countries, and language.
