"Hi everyone! My name is Cody Grimsled and I will be teaching 5th grade Math and Social Studies at Westby Middle School!
I am originally from De Soto, Wisconsin and graduated from high school there. I then went to college at the University of Wisconsin Platteville, where I met my wife Alyssa!
After college, I got a job at Platteville Middle School where I taught 5th grade and also coached JV baseball, and football during my 5 years there. We decided to move closer to family once our daughter, Rosella, was born and I got a job teaching 5th grade in Stoddard for the next 2 years. I took a year off of teaching when Beau was born, and started subbing in the district a few times per week. With my wife already working with Westby as a school-based therapist and our daughter starting 4K this year, when a 5th grade spot opened up it felt like the last piece of the puzzle falling into place.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, reading, and sports of any kind. I am unfortunately a Dallas Cowboys fan, so bear with me as I ride the highs and many lows of the upcoming season.
